Synopsis:- *Warning
Spoilers*
Kafka, a straight swimming trainer meets Daniel, who happens to be gay. The young men fall in love and believe that their love can bridge anything, even their difference in sexuality and Kafka's drug addiction.
Daniel does not regret his love for Kafka, who tries to love him
back against his sexuality. But a dreadful memory from Kafka's past makes it
difficult for their relationship to work. It turns out that their addiction to
love is fatal than the drugs they use to explore the boundaries of their
friendship.
My Review:
Amphetamine is the second of a
trilogy: the first, called Permanent Residence, while the third, known as Life
of an Artist.
This movie deals with relationship, crisis of sexual orientation, loneliness
and the harmfulness of drugs…The director did well in terms of showing this out
without the vulgarity’s which are usually associated with this kind of theme…
I loved the Cinematography…There are some nice compositions and panoramic
views of Hong Kong….And the cast were OK…
But apart from that I did not find anything in the movie which really
glues me,interesting or touching and kind of felt dragging on lot of aspects…I would prefer Permanent
Residence the first in trilogy to this…
My Rating: 5/10
The story is good and may be appeal to some part of audience…
