Synopsis:-
*Warning Spoilers*
This is the story of a hearing-impaired boy, Min-so who is also gay.The starting of the film shows him masturbating himself seeing his
classmate, Ji-seok picture on a computer. He has a brother who apparently does
not respect him because of his hearing problem. One day, Min-soo impulsively
has sex with a young man who works in a public bath, an experience that lends
him new confidence. In the end Min-soo’s lover is found out at the
bathhouse and gets beaten up, which Min-soo witnesses but is unable to do
anything, either by fear of getting himself in trouble… or being labeled.
My Review:
Just so you know, this is a short film directed by the same
director of “Boy Meets Boy”and “Just Friends?”... In this he shows the
perfectly delicate Min-soo being picked on by his classmates, not because he is
gay but because of his hearing problem. It’s probably because of this fear that they would also
pick on him if they found out about his sexual orientation that makes him more isolated
and closed from his feelings.
Overall, LOVE 100°C is about Min-soo’s crush, his sexual
desire, his relationship with his younger sibling, and his issues with standing
up against the society. The ending scene is quite devastating and reflects his inner fear.
My Rating: 6/10
It’s a nice film. But the story seems to
be quite jumbled and comparing Kwang-soo’s previous films, this one does not
seem to reach the mark.
